Our email mass mailing policy is designed to control mailing rates, prevent abuse, and maintain the integrity of our services. Please review the following guidelines: **Sending Restrictions:** SHAHhost does not support outbound mass mailing as a standard offering. Users are limited in sending mail to a large number of recipients within a 24-hour period. This limit is more restrictive initially and becomes more lenient over time. Users reaching this limit will receive error messages indicating "Daily maximum exceeded." This limit may change without notice in the event of a service compromise. The numeric limit is not publicly disclosed to protect our customers. Exceptions to this limit can be made on a case-by-case basis for a temporary period upon request through our support organization. **Policy Objectives:** Our mass mailing policy aims to achieve the following objectives: - Controlling mailing rates to prevent stress on systems. - Limiting outbound message abuse. - Eliminating service degradations. - Mitigating bounce messages in mail queues. - Preventing invalid return address information. - Avoiding mass mailings during peak business hours. **Definition of Mass Mailing:** "Opt-in" mailings, defined as email messages sent to more than 500 users, must be voluntary and not classified as spam. **Reminder:** SPAM, defined as unsolicited bulk email with advertisements or solicitations, is strictly prohibited. SHAHhost takes action against mass mailing of unwanted email solicitations. **Mass Mailing Requirements:** In order to have sending restrictions lifted for a particular sender, SHAHhost requires 48 hours' notice. The following information must be provided to our support team: - Customer name - Number of recipients - "From" domain - "Target" domain - Mailing subject - Mailing date - Mailing start and end times - Rate of mailing (maximum of 10 messages per second) - Valid "From," "Reply-To," "Return-Path," and "Error-To" addresses - Copy of the message content - Method for users to "opt-out" of mailings **Mail Send Rate:** Mass mailings are limited to a maximum rate of 10 messages per second. **Delivery of Mass Mailings:** All mass mailings must be delivered through SHAHhost inbound MX machines. **Allowable Send Times:** Mass mailings must occur between 9 pm and 4 am US Pacific Time. **Valid Headers:** The following headers must contain valid addresses: "From," "Reply-To," "Return-Path," and "Errors-To." **Valid "Abuse Contact":** Customers engaging in mass mailings must provide SHAHhost with an emergency abuse contact. **Non-Compliance Consequences:** Failure to comply with these conditions may result in: - Blocking of the current mailing causing issues or complaints. - Blocking of future mailings until requirements are satisfied. If no "abuse contact" is provided, SHAHhost reserves the right to block mailings without prior notification to the customer.
